At the beginning of hip-hop culture in Germany, Heidelberg was the main spot for several years. Many legends of german hip-hop such as Stieber Twins, Cora E, Advanced Chemistry (Torch, Toni L, Linguist) took their first steps in Heidelberg.

MC Torch was part of that decade too and has become one of the most well-known rapper in Germany. His first solo album Blauer Samt (Blue Velvet) was released back in 2000. It has become a very famous classic and was sold out on vinyl for a long time.

In order to celebrate his 40th birthday on Septemer 30, 2011, Torch decided to re-release his album on vinyl. Besides that, several events had taken place to represent other hip-hop artists of Heidelberg.

The following is a guided city tour through Heidelberg in german language, splitted in three parts.

Part 1:

In the first part, the guide shows the spot where rapper Toni L has grown up. Toni L’s father also tells a collection of anecdotes.

Part 2:

In the second part, b-boy Felix Felixine tells some stories about the history of Advanced Chemistry.

Part 3:

The last part includes a visit to Martin Stieber’s “Flame” store, who is part of the rap group Stieber Twins. The guide also shows the spot where the founder of Heidelberg’s first writer Crew SCM193 has grown up.
