“The Rebirth” feat. Dashah

Yeah that joint is mad dope! That beat is about 13 years old and was in my bag since then. But then we had met Dashah, a mad talented MC from Long Island who now residents in Brooklyn. We had connected through MySpace during the works on our album and he was down for a collabo.

When I thought about a beat that could fit nicely for his flow, I remembered that one that no one else has picked out yet. So I polished that beat up a bit by adding a new drum set and that “Jepp Jepp”-Sample from Marley Marl´s “Droppin´ Science“.

I was influenced by Pitch Black´s “It´s All Real” – one of my alltime favs – where Premo had added that sample too. So I payed some homage to “It´s All Real” by adding that “Jepp Jepp” to my beat as well.

By the way, I did a track for his Rap Burglar Album Pt. 2 called Fly Away. The vocals were re-recorded and to me the mixdown sounds a bit messed up. But it´s a nice track anyway. Digg it out here .
